1-Bromohexadecane
1-Bromohexadecane (Cetylbromide) is a transparent liquid available in drums and IBCs. The product is produced based on bromine from the Dead Sea and a pure source of C16 fatty alcohol. The product is predominantly used as a chemical intermediate for the production of industrial additives, cosmetics and specialties. One of the applications is the production of Cetrimoniumbromide (CTAB), which is an important quaternary ammonium surfactant with antiseptic properties.
