ICL’s magnesium production is based on unique and proven carnallite electrolytic reduction technology. Relying on energy from natural gas and the sun, PrimeDSM has the lowest CO2 emissions of any magnesium production process in the world.

PrimeDSM products can be divided to 2 categories:

  1. Pure Mg for aluminum alloys and for the production of Titanium & Zirconium
  2. Mg alloys used in various structural applications

With PrimeDSM, customers benefit from comprehensive solutions for Magnesium technologies. This includes advanced MRI alloys for use in high pressure die-casting and gravity-casting technologies. Ingot and T-bar formats in a wide range of dimensions provide customers with the highest degree of flexibility in order to achieve operational efficiency.

PrimeDSM’s production benefits from complete vertical integration into ICL’s raw material and energy supply. Its operations are situated adjacent to the world’s highest quality magnesium reserves, and are capable of supporting global magnesium demand for several thousand years to come.
