Fyrol® PNX
Fyrol®PNX is a highly efficient halogen-free additive flame retardant used in flexible polyurethane foam. This material is non-corrosive to glass or metals, and is most suitable for MVSS 302 and Cal 117 type foams. Its high molecular weight offers an additional advantage in automotive foams due to the fact that, in suitable formulations, it offers low fogging capabilities and can provide foams with low in VOC emissions.
Although performance will vary depending on density and formulation, it is not unusual to see a reduction of 50% in the level of flame retardant necessary to meet the above tests in slabstock foam.
